Selfie Fun or Self-Awereness Technique (Art Completes You)
Selfie marathon is a such a fun way to take a look at your inner space. Do you remember that gap when you are dying inside but smiling for others? Or how about feeling powerless and scared but showing confidence on the outside? This gap is what creates a lot of issues in our lives. Sometimes we are aware of the gap and sometimes we are not even aware. We think we are fine and people might ask:”Are you ok?” Anyway, I love this one technique. I had some funny discoveries: I discovered that the makeup trick that I was using was only looking good at a certain angle and with a certain facial expression. LOL.
I also got a chance to look at my “screen saver”. The same way, when our screen savers come up in the computer when we are not actively using it, the screen saver comes up on our face. Here it is:
1. Take a selfie every 10- 15 min. Do not share, do not post on your social media. Be authentic. You do want to see the projection of you. Try to freeze your face, or maybe even look to the side and not on the screen so it is a real thing and not beautified for the camera. Do this for 24 hours with a sleep break of course.
2. Do not look at your selfies during this experiment. You do want to see the objective picture. It is for your eyes only. It is safe.
3. After 24 hours look through all your massive amounts of unedited selfies.
Will you see your “screen saver”?
4. Please pay attention to the eyes and you lip line and the energy you generate.
5. Bring awareness to what affected you at different points, how much it affected you, what you were feeling. Find the clicks or your personal Aha moments).
6. Write down your clicks.
What can you do about your discoveries?
