Self-Leadership
21st-century calls for Self-Leadership. It is not enough anymore to be talented, and wait for someone to show up and take care of your talent. Actually, when was it enough? We must be ready to stand on own feet because the world is intense, loud, and a lot of people can do what recently was out of reach for many people.
We have computers in the palms of our hands, we have social media, we have the ability to connect with thousands of people. People who are ready to invest in us will show up only when we break the ice (maybe more than that!). If you are a musician, for example, the record label will ask how big your following is. If you are an author, the publishing company will be interested in your “platform” and your desire to market yourself before they make a decision to publish your book.
To be a successful self-leader, you need to know your identity. What happens when a challenge comes? What is your response? Is your response helpful to you in achieving your goals? Another great question to ask yourself will be if you were born with this response.
Looking at every event with an eye of a seeker will change your life. We all need different things. If you are successful in your career, you might be longing to learn to relax and if you are too relaxed you might be looking for more energy to do things. Whatever it is, looking at your life with a seeker’s eye will bring change and your self-leadership will start growing.
I use art and meditation to help people raise their awareness and rewrite the patterns that are not useful for them in becoming self-leaders. Join our Facebook group “Art Completes you” for ideas and resources if you are interested in exploring your inner space with art. Warmest, Elena
